4th GATE Training Course: Text Mining with GATE, Linked Data, and GATE on the Cloud
The 4th GATE training course will be held from 16-20 May 2011 at the University of Sheffield, UK.
Places are now full in all tracks and for all categories. Please only email your details if you want to be put on a waiting list and notified by May 5th
This event will follow the format of earlier GATE courses, but with the addition of a new mini-track on the Friday, covering Linked Data, semantic repositories, and OWL ontologies. The mini-track will be delivered by Ontotext, who are world-leading providers of semantic technology products and services.
There are three main tracks delivered by the GATE development team, running in parallel from Monday to Thursday (a preliminary programme is available here):
On Friday, there is an optional add-on course: Linked Data and advanced semantic annotation. Participants in this course would benefit from prior knowledge of RDF, OWL, and basic SPARQL. It is open to participants from any of the main GATE tracks.
For more information about what is covered in each track and what the prerequisites are for taking them, see GATE training course modules.
Every afternoon, there will be a plenary talk open to all participants, covering the following topics:
- Monday: GATE Cloud;
- Tuesday: GATE for life sciences (presentation of Ontotext and Sheffield tools);
- Wednesday: GATE commercial application (presented by the Press Association); and
- Thursday: GATE demos and future developments preview
The FIG participants WIKI is now online, with details about accommodation, venue, and lecture materials for download.
